By taking into account the farms temporary seasonal needs and wishes, we will explore new ways of storage on the farm. The morning starts with a hands-on approach by combining different stored objects into their own storage constructions. After lunch we will have a closer look to the constructions that we have made. Through group discussions we will identify their ingredients and create a step-by-step building guide, just like a recipe. By doing so, we will examine how these new storage possibilities fit into the context of the farm’s seasonal life.

Luc van Basten Batenburg and Barnabás Karakas are students at the Faculty of Architecture at KU Leuven – Sint-Lucas Campus, Brussels. As part of their international master’s studio ‘Landing (The Farm)’, they visited the farm in October 2025 with lecturer and architect Lars Fischer for a two-day introduction.

After a two-year tour of ‘rock ’n’ roll’ productions in backstage kitchens, a long period of permanent backstage kitchens followed. STUK in Leuven, Ancienne Belgique in Brussels and, until October 2025, she cooked at Depot. There, Veronique introduced vegetarian cooking using local produce. Every week, she came to pick up her organic vegetables for the artists at Boer Maarten’s farm. Since the autumn of 2025, Veronique has been cooking at the care home in her village Tielt-Winge. There, they have a bistro for residents, family, the neighbourhood and passers-by. A place run by a Spanish artist, student workers and local volunteers. If it were up to Veronique, they would soon be cooking here with more local produce and fresh organic vegetables too.
